“I have spent thirtysix years looking at smiles.
Not photographs of smiles, real ones.”
The nervous smile of a patient in the chair for the first time. The guarded smile of someone who has learnt to hide their teeth. And the one I work for: the smile of a person who has forgotten, at last, that they were ever afraid of a dentist.
When I opened my first clinic in Nicosia, I understood something that no textbook had told me: people do not fear the drill. They fear not being seen. So I built a practice around a simple promise — that here, you would be treated as a whole person, never as a tooth with an appointment.
That promise became the Yiannikos Centre for Holistic Dentistry.
“Before I ever pick up an instrument, I ask about you”
A tooth is never just a tooth.
It lives in a body — your body — and everything I place in it stays with you long after you leave my chair. This is why I choose materials the way I would choose them for my own family: biocompatible, metal-free, selected for how they behave in the body, not merely in the mouth.
It is why Mercury Removal in my clinics follows the SMART protocol, step by controlled step. It is why healing is supported with PRF and ozone where clinically indicated.
